The dusty blue color of this backing layer has become my new favorite wedding color. It is so soft and delicate while still adding interest to an invitation, a bridesmaid dress, a tablescape...and so on. These custom wedding invitations for Pina and James used just enough of of the blue to be a beautiful accent for their June wedding. But this beautiful backing layer wasn't an ordinary backing layer...it was a back pocket that housed the response card, response envelope, reception card, ... Read the Post
Custom Wedding Invitations for Pina & James
Debra & Steven’s Lasercut Wedding Invitations
In the middle of our initial consultation, Steven mentioned with great pride that Debra had amazing handwriting. She learned from a White House calligrapher! Of course, we had to use her own handwriting for their names on this invitation. We begin with a beautiful navy blue shimmer lasercut pocket. Inside, was a pocket holding a luster silver card printed in navy thermography. It was such a joy to create something truly personal for Debra & Steven! What ... Read the Post
Carin and Mike’s Lasercut Wedding Stationery
Carin was just the absolute sweetest! We worked together in my favorite way ("From the first save-the-date, to the last thank you note") and what a fun paper trail we left! The foundation of our design was a fall color scheme, including a beautiful burgundy. Carin first selected a stunning lasercut pocketfolder and we used the shape of those rose cutouts throughout her stationery. We echoed that lacy rose feeling with an asymmetrical border on the invitation, and then as accents on the ... Read the Post
Cameron & Justin’s Foil Stamped & Letterpress Wedding Invitations
Working with Terry of Terry Kaye Events is ALWAYS a treat. This project, was especially fun, though. To our consultation with Cameron & Justin, Terry brought swatches of their custom table linens for the reception as inspiration. These colors and patterns played a big role in their invitation design. To give their invitations a classic and traditional feel, we used a formal script for their names and accent text. The baroque embellishments in the corners gave a bit of a vintage ... Read the Post
Jane & Michael’s Silver Letterpress Wedding Invitations
Jane & Michael met with me to discuss a custom invitation design when they couldn't find anything online that really suited their wedding. After seeing some samples of other custom work, they selected a fun "back pocket" style card in wine and some stunning textured silver paper and then let me play! Adding a little inset curve to the corners of the border gave it just a little "pizazz". Mixing a pretty, traditional serif font with a contemporary and sleek script really helped ... Read the Post
Hayley & Richard’s Foil Stamped Wedding Invitations
This project was special! It was such a privilege to create a custom invitation for the daughter of a friend. Hayley and her mom both have great taste and our appointment was a fun session of quick decisions. She liked some elements from each of 3 different designs, and it was fun to put them together into one beautiful design. Three shades of gray with a subtle pop of metallic blush worked so very well together, but the highlight of this design is definitely their names in a pretty ... Read the Post
